1 lb Hamburger (or Ground Turkey)
1 med Onion, chopped
1/4 cup shredded cabbage (more or less to your liking)
1-2 small to medium potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
28 oz can diced tomatoes
28 oz water plus a little more (I use the tomato can and get all the goodness left in the can)
1 bay leaf
1 tsp Basil
1 tsp Thyme
handful minute rice
1. Fry hamburger and onion together until browned. Drain oil.
2. In large pot put all the remaining ingredients except the rice. Heat to boil.
3. Add the hamburger and onion.
4. Simmer for an hour. Add rice and continue to cook until rice is done and potatoes are tender.
Serve with Crackers and cheese
