Baked smothered pork chops

3-4 pork chops*
1 cup mushrooms,  sliced
3-4 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
Salt
Pepper
2 or 3 tbsp butter

Sauce:
1/4 cup milk
1 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 stick butter
Pan juices

Preheat oven to 350

Heat butter, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper in large saucepan,  throw in mushrooms.  Heat for approx 5min.  Toss in garlic.  Sear pork chops on each side approx 2 min. 

Place chops and mushroom mix in 9×13 baking dish (smaller if only 3-4 chops). Heat in oven for 35 min.

When finished set chops aside on plate.
In original saucepan,  heat butter and pan juices to boil.  Mix milk and cornstarch. Pour into pan juice butter mix and whisk until thickens.   Add pork chops bake in and coat with sauce. 

Serve and enjoy!

I usually make mashed potatoes with this…or steamed broccoli. …goes good with sauce. 

*you can use whatever pork chops you like.   I get what’s on sale but preferably relativly thick chops.
In this picture I used bone in center loin family pack (6 chops) because they were on sale. 

I like more sauce….so you can add a cup or two of water or chicken broth to pan juice. .. just add more seasoning as your taste prefers. .. If not thick enough add a little more milk and cornstarch.
